This book is based on the combined research and experience of three of the most successful trout fishermen in the British Isles. The authors begin by explaining how their own approach and ideas have evolved in response to their experiences over the years. A small but very comprehensive tackle selection is recommended, and attention is then turned towards the main focus of the book - the quest for trout. An understanding of the trout's environment and behaviour is essential to success and both are descried in detail, emphasising, for example, the differences between browns and rainbows, residents and stock fish. In translating these observations into tactics, some completely new techniques are revealed. Fly-tying is also covered in a refreshingly different light, which concentrates on creating flies to attract fish rather than human admiration. Colour and b&w photographs throughout. Good condition. Hardcover, 25cm x 18cm, 168 pages.
